Bad Teeth and Americans!!!?

Why do all Americans beleive all us British have bad teeth? We dont! I have a perfect set of pearly whites! Ivisit my dentist every six months and have never had a filling!!





And even if we did the phrase pot, kettle, black springs to mind!!!!! I've seen programmes such as Dr Phil, Maury Povich, Rikki Lake and Jerry Springer!! Away from all that Hollywood glam, your teeth are just as disgusting, i'd even go as far as to say they are worse!!

I agree with you. I get fed up with that old cliche. The yanks seem to have worse teeth than us away from the glam lot.





Bunny is right: Programmes , is spelt that way in English - twit. And why are there so many yanks on the UK site ?

Reply:Since moving the the States 10 years ago I have lost 3 back teeth. At home in England I saw my dentist every 6 months for FREE. Here, I cant afford to go. My son badly need his teeth seen. He had 3 fillings and 2 caps and it cost over 2 THOUSAND pounds. ($4000) would have been cheaper to fly home and do it for nothing and see my dad (who I miss) instead. Its due to that idiot Mike Myres. (canadian TSK) Yanks have way bad teeth. (But then Im in Texas where they chew tobacco) Its gross. One thing I miss from home is the beautiful British Smiles

Get focused and get a job that may lead you into becoming dental assistant if your that angry about bad teeth.

Reply:Americans are brats when it comes to our teeth. We love our teeth perily white and straight. Most people in urban and suburban areas get braces to straighten their teeth. Water in the US is also fluoridated so our teeth are very healthy. People with bad teeth (in the US) tend to live in rural areas that use non-fluoridated water and cannot afford to go to get braces. It's not that British people (and most Europeans) have bad teeth, it's just that they are not as fussy as we are about it. Water in Europe (including most of the UK) is usually not fluoridated so teeth just look dingier compared to ours. Also many people in Europe (mostly older people) did not have braces growing up so their are a lot of grannies with crooked smiles. This rumor has been around for a while so I assume you have grandma's teeth to blame for the start of this rumor (it probably started during WW2) when Europeans really had bad teeth (again compared to finicky Americans).
