Would lumineers work for me?

i was told lumineers is about 1000$ per tooth? i have perfect teeth but i just need to close a gap between my two front teeth. would lumineers work for this and if it will how much will it cost? will they charge me for the two teeth? or for all my teeth that need moving?

Would lumineers work for me?
Lumineers do not move teeth, they change the appearance of your teeth. They are best used for patients that need an additive look, ie multiple spaces, small teeth. Since they are no-preparation veneers, they will result in a slightly bulkier tooth when completed.

As far as costs, if you have 2 front teeth done, you get charged for 2. simple enough.

Who's the hottest and not so hot So You Think You Can Dance contestant?

I know its a dancing contest not a whos hot/not contest but Im just curious to what people think and why

Lauren is the hottest of the hottest of them all, well I think shes just plain hot. To say that its because shes beautiful charming charismatic(but can have an alter ego:tomboy karate and so on)and she has this perfect smile and white teeth to show people can have nice smiles but have bad teeth or bad smiles and perfect teeth she just shows it proudly. And to top it off she's 19. BUT I have 2 turn off with the hottest girl alive(IMO although I'm married my wife thinks the same) she's turning the competition to who has the best abs and who can act the preppiest and sluttiest girl, well, she's the obvious winner. The other is that she's into guys like way too much shes like NEIL PASHA! She doesn't care if she has a boyfriend or not she just wants to be surrounded by them

Not so hot is Sabra, she doesn't have this personality spark everybody has she can dance but no "it".

Who's the hottest and not so hot So You Think You Can Dance contestant?
My favorite out of the guys are Pasha and Danny although Danny is probably gay. Least hot guy is Neil.

Hottest girl is Sabra because she has the class and grace that the other girls lack. Least hot is Lacey because I think she is letting her popularity go to her head and I suspect that her being Benji's sister was a big part of the reason why she is on the show.
Reply:hmm...i like men. hok was the hottest, but now he's gone. dominick is disgusting.

i love lauren.
Reply:Hottest: Danny or Neil

Not so hot: Domonic (his face is just weird)
Reply:Kameron was hott and now he's gone =[ Neil is gorgeous!!!!! I love him !! and Pasha is uncomfortable to watch especially in the one part of their hip hop when Lauren was shaking her butt and he was too... Awkward....lol umm for the girls Lauren and Lacey are really pretty i like Lacey alot more because of her dancing... its exceptional lol!!! love her!! Lauren is great but she doesnt have that "spark" quite yet...keep working on it sweetie u'll get it... as for dancing umm my fav. girl is Lacey and anyone who doesnt think Danny is absolutly incredible is insane i mean look at his pirowettes and his height of his grand jete's and stags its amazing...dominic looks like aflippin muskrat and jamie well she had *copying the judges comments* beautiful lines but she never completly showed any "spark" I LOVE SYTYCD!!!
Reply:Anya was the hottest girl - but of those left, it would have to be Lacey - it seems to be so natural for her. I'm not saying I like her, she hasn't got a genuine (gosh, she's so obviously phony) or humble bone in her body!

Danny is the hottest dude, because he doesn't realize he's hot - he's so humble. (He did something though, I forget what, but it made me wonder about his sexual preference.) He's still HOT though and a phenomenal dancer.
Reply:Ditto to mwang. But if you rewatched the Wednesday night show, you'll see that Pasha said he doesnt want to let her down, he never said that to anyone else but her, so he cares for her somehow, not as much as she does for him as how we saw it though. Lauren is hot, so is Pasha and Neil. I like them 3 but I would die to see Pasha and Lauren, as well as Lauren and Neil to dance a slow ballroom, IF America is smart enough to put her through, hopefully she will.

Lauren + Pasha = Intense Hottness, Lauren + Neil = Flaming Hot

Good Morning on ITV (UK)?

Does that Ruth woman who presents on a Friday get on anybody else's nerves other than mine?!!

With her perfect hair, her perfect teeth, her perfect diction, her perfect baby and her perfect marriaget to blobby Eamon. While I'm here in my scruffs trying to tidy a week's mess up before everyone starts coming home at 3pm, she is DOING MY HEAD IN! I guess I should change channel!!

Anyway, I've never liked her, and she's just annoyed me by (yet again) telling the men (i.e. Philip S and Antony WT) what they can and can't do!

Will someone ask Fern to come in on a Friday? It's my day off, and it's spoiled by having to watch and listen to Perfect Ruthy while I'm doing my stuff around the house.

Right, rant over. Have a great weekend everybody!!

Good Morning on ITV (UK)?
It is half-term and Fern is looking after the kids, presumably.

I refuse to watch This Morning when Ruth whats-her-face is on it, because she is such a whiner. She was whining about someone who didn't hold a door open for her, and then slammed one in her face! XD Did you ever stop and think it was something to do with YOU, dear?

Poor Eammon Holmes. How does he put up with it? %-P
Reply:yeah i love fern that ruth gets on my **** too. luckily i have work friday so........

Wheres Fern gone?
Reply:I really don't have an issue with her because i'm from Oztralia and have never heard of her. But you have a great weekend as well!!

Reply:OK...'Fern, would it be possible if you did fridays as well? its just that Ruth is really doing everyones head in'...there done it....what ou could do is tape thursdays and watch that on friday, in the meantime
Reply:lol - I get annoyed with Fern when she does interviews with the public and she simpers to them so I like the change when Ruth whoever she is is on. I dont watch it much these days. I had no idea she was married to Eamon (Holmes??!!). He is the one man on TV guarenteed to make me switch it off. There is something really not nice about him. Perhaps they are going to quietly take over our tv viewing...........arghhhhhh!!!!
Reply:They all annoy me on this morning, so I watch BBC Breakfast instead!!
Reply:its worse when that tit of a husband of hers stands in for philip, they end up nearly having a domestic on tv.....take it home with you, we dont care that he forgot your birthday/anniversary/valentine/bar mitzvah......bring back lozzer kelly
Reply:Change the blinking channel then! Sorry but unnecessary moaning does my head in!

Perfecttt?

Do you think it's wrong when an 18 year old trys to be perfect? Perfect job, Perfect teeth, Perfect Relationship, Perfect Boyfriend / Girlfriend, Perfect friends?

Perfecttt?
he must be a highly amibitious person. its not wrong to try to be perfect, but there's always chance that he'll fail. he has to keep in mind that we learn a lot through our mistakes. besides, he has to be careful so that this high-ambition doesn't snatch away any good thing from the life.
Reply:they can try, but they'll fail. perfection is impossible. But it gives you somthing you should always try for. Like the endless road
Reply:yes. its egotistical competition with the world
Reply:I wouldnt say it's wrong, its just not appropriate. At that age, you should be learning from your mistakes that you make. And there's no such thing as being perfect. Nobody is.

Loosen up, chill out, make some mistakes and learn from it.

Root Canal or Get it Pulled?

Hi im 22 years old %26amp; i Have had a tooth-ache off on for over a year now ! It recently got worse So i went to the dentist! I have had the tooth filled several times ! This recent visit they said the tooth was dieing plus I have bad infection where the filling is on that toothand I need a root canal they explained the procedure and all that ! But both my parents had bad experinces with there root canals and ended getting them pulled out anyhow! Plus I have heard other horror stories as well! My Dental Insurance will only pay half so that leaves me to pay 500.00 not includeing the crowns to be put on later! Its a back tooth so Im really considering just haveing pulled but I really am worried cause im young still and most of my teeth have fillings so its not like I perfect teeth to start with! So just any good advice or suggustions would be great!

Root Canal or Get it Pulled?
Hi Emily,

I would personally consider root canal treatment (RCT). RCT is not guaranteed successful, but surely it is worth a try, because it is better to try and keep all of your teeth in your mouth.

I can see your point, though, as it if proves unsuccessful, then you've wasted a lot of money.

I am 20 years old and regret having teeth extracted, but that might be because I work in a dental practice and teeth interest me now.

If you have a decent amount of teeth in your mouth, then perhaps opt for it to be extracted. Ask your dentist if it will make much of a difference if the tooth is missing.

I must say, quite a few patients I have seen recently have decided on an extraction, rather than RCT. But please do not let this influence your decision.

I am a dental surgery assistant and my advice is given on a personal level and should not be considered to be professional.

Please let me know what you decide.

Keep smiling.
Reply:Hi Emily,

Since you're young, you may want to go ahead and have the root canal treatment done. Make an appointment with an endodontist, who specializes in root canals..

While your parents have concerns, you should be ok after the treatment. Yes, dental work can be expensive, but at least you have dental insurance to help with your out of pocket expenses.

If you have the tooth extracted, the teeth on either side of the space will shift. A bridge can be done to prevent this, but if you're looking at cost effectiveness, a root canal and a crown is less expensive than an extraction and a bridge.

Your insurance has an annual maximum, so make sure a pre-treatment estimate is done prior to the crown. This way you'll know how much you'll be responsible for.

Good Luck!
Reply:Root canals are successful about 90%+ in the back teeth and generally go well. The cost is an investment in your health and may save you money in the long run. You should get regular checkups and cleanings to catch problems like this early when they are easier and cheaper to fix. Good Luck!
Reply:I have had several root canals (not that I'm proud :) and they are well worth it with an experienced endodontist (root canal therapy dentist) as opposed to having a gaping hole in one's mouth and especially since you are so young as someone else pointed out. If you get the tooth pulled, you would still need to get a bridge or 'flipper' to give a decent cosmetic look to your smile. I'm not sure how much that costs either, but if you have a choice, I would go with the root canal providing that you go to an endodontist with a good reputation.
Reply:saving the tooth is your best bet if at all possible. who knows, down the road you might have more cavities and this and that and saving your teeth as best you can will save you money in the long run because you might need implants which are sooo expensive!
Reply:I was a dental assistant in the army for several years, the cost of dental treatment was never an issue for the patients

or the care providers. From that view point it is always better

to save the functionality of the tooth, by taking the dentist reccomomended course of treatment. You can't grow another

tooth. If you can afford it financially go with the root canal and crown. Don't worry about the horror stories you've heard about the proccedure after all your allready in pain. The treatment is meant to elliminate the cause of the pain and retain the fuctionality of the tooth. If cost is a problem perhaps

extraction would be a better course of action.

Will Braces Make My Nose A Bit More Narrow When I Smile?

***PLEASE READ THE WHOLE ENTIRE THING***

First off, I do not have perfect teeth. They narrow in a bit and are not alligned with my jaw nor are they straight %26amp; perfect. Im getting braces/invislign retainer[s] next month. The thing is, when I smile my nose gets super wide. I sort of this it has something to do with the alignment of my teeth. Because my nose is narror when I am not smiling. I have put paper in my mouth to see what Ill look like with straight WHITE perfect teeth before, weird-I know, but when I smiled my nose didnt get wide or anything. Anyone have any experience with this? I know its probably out of the norm. but if its EVER happened before Id love to know...

Will Braces Make My Nose A Bit More Narrow When I Smile?
I whole heartly agree with you. I recently went to the dentist to have a wisdom teeth removed and on a computer genrated image I was shown what my teeth, jaw ,neck would look like if my teeth were properly alingedand yes my nose did look smaller.
Reply:Sounds like it may be a matter of comparison/proportion/optical illusion. You smiled normally and your nose widened and even with the paper, you would smile as well. Maybe having straighter teeth after the braces will actually "take away" from your nose looking wide.
Reply:I think that maybe the inside of your mouth got stuck onto the paper, causing the skin to stay in one place when you smiled. When you normally smile there is only slippery teeth there, which doesn't hold the skin attached to your nose in place---causing it to spread.
Reply:The reason your nose appears to get wider when you smile is due to your facial muscles contracting and pulling on your facial skin (including your nose). The width or narrowness of your nose has nothing to do with the teeth alignment.
Reply:,HELLO,

FYI FACIAL SYMMETRY IS PERFECT IN A VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE. THE REASON WHY YOUR NOSE WIDENS MORE WHEN YOU SMILE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR TEETH, BUT IT DOES HAVE TO DO WITH YOUR LIP POSITION AND MUSCLE STRUCTURE.

THE MUSCLES IN YOUR FACE DON'T CONTRACT EVENLY OR EXACTLY EQUALLY, SO SOME DISTORTION TAKES PLACE.
Reply:nope, thats just a computer error. your nose wont change. mine didnt.

Can I go to another Dentist this year?

I have Medicaid or Medicare and my mom has both.

I am very dissatisfied with this experience with these Dentists ( read my other questions if you want details). My mom is quickly finding herself not happy with them either.

Can I go to another Dentist this year?

If you want short story-- 10 months ago perfect teeth with dentist at this place. This time woman, drills teeth she didn't say she was going to,.. she said she was going to do 3 teeth. Had allergic reaction to shots she forced on me against my will, she couldn't finish.. didn't know why I was haveing those reactions since noone is allergic to shots or has any side effects accoridng to her. My mom got me dentist from last time, guy drills teeth that isn't that dentist [without shot]. 4 teeth this time, 2 last time,.. makeing 3 more teeth then I was told,.. only one tooth is one of the ones she said was going to get filling. He says to come back for untold number of more fillings.

Can I go to another Dentist this year?
You need to check with your insurance. In WI, you can only have 1 checkup and cleaning (if you are over 13) one time per year. Fillings are a different story, they can be done whenever. What kind of reaction did you get to anesthetic? Side effects are rare. Alot of people experience rapid heartbeat, panicky feeling. If so, that is from the epinephrine in the anesthetic. Ask to use without epi. Also, maybe previous dentist missed some cavities on the xray, or they were small enough to watch for the time being and now needed to be treated. To avoid cavities in the future, chew sugarless gum, avoid soda, juices and other sweetened liquids like Gatorade. If you are going to drink a soda, have it with a meal, don't sip over a long period of time. Besides brushing, make sure you floss! Most people get interproximal (in between the teeth) types of cavities. Also, you could use a fluoride rinse to help prevent cavities.
Reply:Yes you can change a dentist or doctor anytime you want to.
Reply:Every plan is different..Some do not allow you to switch except once a year and some do allow you to. The only person who can answer that for you is your medical insurance.

Is there anything like this?

When I was younger I used to be in beauty pageants and I know alot of the young girls had simple snap on teeth covers that looked like perfect teeth. Now as I am an adult and getting married I would like to find something like that for my wedding day and pictures. And don't worry I am planning on getting my teeth fixed, but I had one knocked out in a car accident and my dentist said I need to wait until my wisdom teeth finish growing in before we can fix my teeth alignment. So Basically I am looking for a teeth cover that looks like perfectly cosmetic teeth. Please help!

Is there anything like this?
I didn't know they made something like that. I want some too for my wedding!! I researched it and found this website http://www.snaponsmile.com/

Hope this helps and thank you for the idea =)

Dental advice (are there any dentists on here?)?

Okay, while I do take good care of my teeth they are actually terrible. Even brushing twice a day I have a few of fillings, to be honest I ate ridiculous amounts of sweets when I was younger and didn't give it a second thought and now it's too late...I have a couple of fillings on my front teeth and while they aren't that noticeable because they're white I would rather have a perfect smile, my teeth are also quite crooked.

I was reading up on cosmetic dentistry, but I read that veneers may not be possible if a tooth has had fillings? I'm only in my 20's and this hurts my self esteem. I'm thinking this is a really uncommon problem? everyone I know has perfect teeth, have they never eaten sweets??

P.S. please don't be cruel when answering :)

Dental advice (are there any dentists on here?)?
I'm not a dentist I'm a dental nurse. The first thing you should do is the obvious, go to a dentist. Try to go to one who has a hygienist at that surgery, she will give you a scale and polish and tell you the right way of flossing and brushing your teeth. I know it sounds pretty childish but most people brush their teeth wrong and you can do more harm than good. Then when you see your dentist tell him what your feeling and ask him/her to draw up a treatment plan. Implants are an option but they replace missing teeth and you would be looking at about £2000.00 per implant. Veneers are possible but if not then maybe crowns which is full coverage of a tooth where as veneers are just a front covering. I don't know if your in the UK, but if you are you might be looking a private treatment as although this type of work can be done on the NHS most dentist only offer it privately. I do wish you luck, but once you get started on a treatment plan it will make a world of difference to you and your confidence. If you want or need anymore info please send me a message I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.
Reply:try going to your dentist. she/he could help you more and fix the problem, here we cant exactly fix it so i say go to your dentist. if you dont have one go and make one then book an oppointment.
Reply:Nope, I'm not a Dentist. Implants are an option, although they are spendy.
Reply:The BEST way to achieve a perfect smile is to

1. Make sure your oral hygiene is adequate. I'm not saying brush 3-4 times a day for 10 minutes each and floss 3-4 times. Unrealistic expectations are always bound to fail. At least twice a day at a minimum of 2 minutes, and flossing at least once a day. More if you desire so, more power to you. Rinses such as Listerine or ACT Fluoride rinse at your discretion. This is your foundation.

2. Restoring your teeth (ie no cavities)

3. Orthodontics, to get your teeth straightened. Most people like to skip this and just get crowns or veneers so it looks straight. What happens is a dentist will often will have to take away more tooth structure in order to make crooked teeth fit the ideal curvature of teeth. What other people don't realize is, orthodontics (braces) can help you clean your teeth easier.

4. The cosmetic stuff (if needed). Veneers, ceramic crowns, gingivoplasty, whitening, etc.

Also, some people want the Julia Roberts smile, but only she can get that smile b/c she's Julia Roberts. You need to get your own personal smile. See a dentist and he or she will help. I'm a dentist and this is the right way (the ideal text book way) of doing things. Hope this helps.
Reply:I'm not a dentist but I've had similar problems corrected!!

My front teeth were erroding because I had used them to replace the chewing from my molars .. so they really looked bad (crooked %26amp; decayed).

I had root canals and crowns placed on them and replaced a few with bridges .. I now have a straight smile and my teeth look so good I love to smile now!!

I'll be honest it hurt like hell but if you get the right dentist who can do a root canal in one appointment you'll be fine.

I don't believe it was sweets that did me in, I think that it was a combo of bad water, no fluroide and bad dental genes!! You'll be fine.

Do I need braces, caps or plates?

My mum and dad have perfect teeth and then I had fine teeth until 6 when I fell from these school monkey bars 3 metres high and I was probably 1 metre at the time and landed head first onto the side of this platform thingy though it was partially made of rubber. I have really strong healthy teeth so I was lucky that only my 2 front teeth came out however all my gum was smashed and blood was everywhere and my mouth has outshaped since then. Its not freakish looking but iyd noy pleasant to look at. Theres no pains or anything however I do bite my toungue a lot by accident and I have a vampire tooth and a tooth thats been stuck for several years now. Im 16 so ten years has pasted since they were smashed and I was either planning on getting braces although dentists tell me my teeth dont need them or I will get my teeth all capped when Im 18 or 21 (hopefully 18 though). What do you guys think I should get?

Do I need braces, caps or plates?
Personally I think your teeth are pretty ok. But if you really don't like the shape of your teeth I would suggest getting braces since you have a big under-bite, which is the reason you bite your tongue a lot. I don't think getting veneers is the best way to go. Hope i helped =D
Reply:If you are getting any of those, the dentist or an orthodontist can give you the right fix for your case. They can tell which of the three will be more effective in correcting your teeth. Base on the photo I think they will give you braces. ♥☺♥ Good luck!
Reply:Yes you should get braces, invisilign (they are almost invisible), I think it is called. You should also get them capped, and other than that they look very clean and white. Can you possibly get some of this work done on your parents insurance before you turn 18? Then get the rest done at a later date. That's half the battle. Your whole smile will have done a 160 % degree turnaround.

You'll be the next model on the Great Smile commercial, keep up the good work.
Reply:braces, earlier the better

Do I need braces again or is something wrong with my retainer?

I got my braces off 4 years ago. I had them for 2 years. I knew when I got them off that there was one tooth that wasn't quite perfect but it didn't bother me. Now that Im a junior in high school almost everyone has got theirs off and have pretty much perfect teeth. And ive noticed how mine are not as perfect as they can be (which sucks cuz I had them for 2 years). When you see my smile from the side, one of my teeth is partly on top of another and my front teeth aren't exactly on the same plane ( if I run my finger across, it will hit a small bump). I have been wearing my retainer less and less becaue its been 4 years. But now the top one is really loose. Its been loose for awhile but I always disregarded it. My bottom one fits perfectly (and hurts whenever I wear it which shows its working). The top one is really loose especially and i cant fix it cuz im sleeping. Do I need braces (i want invisalign) again becuase maybe its just that doctor didnt do good job or is it th retainer

Do I need braces again or is something wrong with my retainer?
1. wear your retainers

2. you probably need braces or invisilign to correct that.

i just asked my dentist today if i could get a retainer to fix one tiny imperfection and he said he would have to refer me to an invisilign orthodontist.
Reply:Im pretty sure youd have to see your orthodontist/ dentist so that they can literally see your teeth and tell you!
Reply:i dont know. i think you should ask your dentist....i think the braces came off to early.... and the retainer needs to be checed out aswell.

good luck :)

xx paige
Reply:idk

but what i do know is that i am kind of in the situation, i made them take my braces off after them taking them off 3 times and said they were going to have to do it again. (i have been getting them on and off since 3rd grade) My retainers kind of still fit but my teeth are rearanging bact to what they were b4
Reply:just go back to the ortho and they will tell you what to do

they did a fine job, your retainer must have gotten bent up somehow, therefore its not doing a good job with your teeth

just call them up and stop by, the docs will tell you what to do

Braces or no?

i`m a freshman in hs and mii front teeth are crooked; the first 2 in the front are; ii don't think they are that bad tho. my dentist says all mii other teeth are perfect. SO if I was to get braces I would only have it on the top teeth. Can I just get a retainter or something else for those specific 2 teeth? I don't want crooked teeth in senior year buht I don't wanna be walkin around with braces either. So what should I do? Any other way to get "perfect teeth?"

Next time, hit the icon 'Check Spelling.'
Reply:You need to put your pride aside and concentrate on your dental health. I refused to wear braces when I was 16 and I have regretted it ever since. It will only be one year or two versus the rest of your life. Go ahead and do it. You will not regret it.
Reply:I had braces wen i was 18-20 and that too due to my front tooth, believe me as much as you wud hate to get braces right now, these wud only better ur appearance later. I hated it wen i got braces but I am glad now that I did bcoz today my front tooth is where it shud b n not gone down other teeth giving me weird appearance. However if you find another alternative, it's always great to go for that if it fits ur necessity.
Reply:Braces are more effective at a younger age.
Reply:Next time you go to your dentist, ask for a refferal to an orthodontist in your area. And have your parent(s) call to get you an appointment. And its totally free, and he can tell you whether or not you need them.

Im thirteen, and I think you should ask youre dentist about getting braces becuase a friend of mine had an issue like yours and got braces onn just four of her teeth and she looks fine, you dont have to get all braces, and i have braces and in the long run its better because you wont be so self-concious when you smile, snd you probably wont have to wear them for very long, if you get them. I say get the braces.Plus its better to get braces while you're young soo that you dont look stupid wearing braces at like 20 years old.
Reply:Braces will make a difference in the long run.

Get them.
Reply:Get them.
Reply:braces would be better ... if your fine with having messed up teeth for the rest of your life then don't get them !
Reply:just DO it. or get invisiline. or any kind of clear braces. ask your dentist. your gna wanna do it now as a freshhyyy rather than later in life. ull start paying close attention to stuff like taht later and youlll regret it
Reply:Get a retainer at night if it isnt that bad.
Reply:invisiline..idk or just get them it is way better getting them now instead of when you are like.. old..id ya kna what i meannn
Reply:GET BRACES WHILE YOUR YOUNG!!!!! I am 21 and regret that i didnt get to get them while i was younger.
Reply:Can you do invisalign?
Reply:invisaligh? i know i spelled it wrong

dont, worry u wont hae to get them on the bottom and theyll be off fast

there's also inside out braces that are painful...oww
Reply:You can just get braces on for front upper teeth. About 4 would probably be sufficient. And you wouldn't need them for that long, considering that it's only 2 teeth. They really aren't that bad. People don't even notice braces anymore, especially if you get those really small ones.
Reply:have you looked into that invisalign thing? its like a clear retainer and you get a new one every couple weeks to make your teeth straighten. Otherwise braces arent that bad, and the quicket you get them the sooner they'll be off. I totally think they're worth having straight teeth!
Reply:Retainers are for after you get braces, so that won't work.

If you do get braces, though, it won't be for long; since you're a freshman, it's highly unlikely you'll still have braces until your senior year.

I'd say go ahead with the braces if you had a choice. Most people have them for two years, but I'm sure yours won't even need that much time!
Reply:I'm a freshman and I have braces and mine will be coming off really soon. It'll be totally worth it to get the braces. You'll love the results. Lots of my friends have had braces. If they're on the top, it won't look bad/geeky at all. Just go for it! If you don't you'll regret it. You want your senior pictures to look the best they can. If your teeth are so nice, you won't have to wear them for long at all so just get 'em over with. You'll love your straight teeth.
Reply:See an Orthodontist who will give you options.
Reply:If you have some extra money then you can buy these invisable retainer like thing that, over time, straightens and aligns ur teeth.
Reply:I have braces and they are not that bad, so I would say that you should just get braces.
Reply:I'm 13 so I have never went to high school yet,but i can tell ya that you should get braces because they come in alot of different colours which is great!!! I never had braces but if you get braces, i would recommend white because they are UNIQUE, my friend has em:P :P Hope i helped
Reply:i you should wear braces and wear those fake teeth coverup over the braces so it wont be visible.but the bad side is you cant kiss incase the cover comes of
Reply:my niece had the same question but you need to get them in the end you will be happy that you did you can always get the clear braces. if your worried that the boys will not like you think again bc i bet you pretty and trust me honey the last thing that they will be looking at while kissing you is your teeth unless you dont brush your teeth then thats another story but i think you should do it. good luck
Reply:Only 2 of my teeth are slightly crooked. I had braces too, when my teeth were kinda...messed up I guess? Well the dentist thought that all my teeth were perfect, (Friggin retard) so they took them out to early. Now I have to get surgery at around 18~24 when I'm finished growing.

ADVICE: Get braces. But if you do get them the ups are that it's better in the long run, but the downs are you might lock braces or cut someones mouth up; because My mouth has been cut up before lol :(
Reply:i wouldn't spend 3000 macaroons for 2 teeth. I would look into getting a retainer or something because if all your other teeth are crooked that's a waste of time AND money.
Reply:You should get braces. You won't have to have them on for too long and they don't hurt to bad. It will be a good decision in the long run because once you get older you will want nice straight teeth.
Reply:Well, put it this way, if you wore braces for a couple of months, you would have perfect teeth your whole life, aside to not giving up a few months in your life just so you get to live with crooked teeth! i have to wear braces until the beginning of my freshman year(im in 7th grade.)

but my mom said it's just a good thing to do, you'll be thankful for it in a couple years. if you're so embarrassed about ppl seeing u w/ them, why not ask to get them on the back of ur teeth? =)
Reply:You probably won't have to wear them very long if your teeth aren't that bad, so I say go for it! I had braces and now my teeth are gorgeous. So any discomfort is well worth it believe me.
Reply:ok to start off getting a retainer is just something that makes u have something in your gums and getting braces isnt that bad because if u get a retainer it just makes it worse cuz u wont be able to talk rite and if i were you i better get braces for both bottom and top because it will look more better and you will look even more beautiful trust me i know my sis has braces too
Reply:I worked with someone at camp this summer and she a brace that was at the back of her teeth so you couldn't see them.

At the end of the day it is your mouth and you are the one who has to live with it so you have to think about whether you can live with it as it is or do you want to straighten those teeth.
Reply:get braces...........there some what fun to wear.......next year i am going to be a freshman and i am going to have braces..........

Is this a good metaphor ?

Not Perfect

Every time I try, I fail

I look at the clock slowly ticking wishing that the day would be over

I try and try till I’m perfect

But I can’t seem to get it

I’m confused, I see everyone else perfect

But I slowly realize

No one is perfect

But I keep on trying till I am perfect

That one rainy day I thought to my self why should I try to be perfect when I always fail?

I went to sleep and the next day I didn’t try to make my self perfect

I didn’t try to have the perfect hair

The perfect teeth

Or the perfect personality

I realized I should be my self and not a copy

I was my self that day…..

And that day was the best day of my life

Merriam Webster states it as: : a figure of speech in which a word or phrase literally denoting one kind of object or idea is used in place of another to suggest a likeness or analogy between them (as in drowning in money); broadly : figurative language compare SIMILE

2 : an object, activity, or idea treated as a metaphor : SYMBOL 2

What you wrote is not a metaphor.

Hope I helped

and its a poem =]
Reply:What metaphor? You don't have any comparison of one thing to another in here... It's pretty in a way though it lacks the rhythmic flow that really marks something as a poem. It merely has the syntactical appearance of a poem. Poems don't have to rhyme, but they do have a heightened lyrical fluency. Just my opinion of course. :)
Reply:thats not a metaphor.. its a poem.

a metaphor is comparing 2 things using is, as, etc..

its a good poem tho!
Reply:It's more of a paradox than a metaphor, I think, that the most perfect day of your life would be the day you gave up the idea of being perfect. It's also a beautiful spiritual lesson about how we should really live our lives. Nicely done.
Reply:nope it was a REALLY good metaphor. lol i wish i could write like you
Reply:A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase literally denoting one kind of object or idea is used in place of another to suggest a likeness or analogy between them, as in "My sister was on cloud nine." There is no such thing as a cloud nine and if there were, Sis would not be on it. The phrase, "on cloud nine" has taken the place of "elated" to convey the same idea in figurative language.

I detect no metaphor in your poem.

What treatment will I need?

I'm 17, live in the UK and I have rarely been to the dentist. My bottom teeth are all straight, every single one but 6 of my top teeth need straightened out, my front 2 need pushed out because they slant in like an arrow (^) and 4 teeth (2 on each side of my front teeth) Are raised and higher than the rest. What treatment would I need to push out my front 2 teeth and lower the other 4 so my top row of teeth will be straight and in line? Where would I go about finding the treatment and how long would it take I am very self concious of my teeth and my teenage life has been hell with my crooked teeth, I don't laugh, never talk and when i do i don't move my lips so I mumble and nobody can understand what I am saying. because I am scared people will see my teeth and therefore my social life has suffered as I didn't make friends [Talk to new people in school etc] So I have decided to take action so i can have perfect teeth, smile laugh and talk again. Any help would be great thank you

Ortho thinks braces are ready to come off...I don't know?

Soo...my orthodontist told me that my braces may be ready to come off, we made another appointment where the final choice will be made...funny thing is, he decided this after he announced that he would be retiring and since it's a family owned place the whole place would be closed down...rather convient that he should decide this now. I'm wondering if he just doesn't want the rest of his money, because to me and my Mom, my teeth don't look perfect like they should be...I want them to look like this http://www.braces.org/images/p1-t-3.jpg

but they look more like the bottom picture on this http://www.outtacontext.com/life/images/...

basically, all my teeth are touching, there's still some gaps...after all the money and effort my family and I went through, I want perfect teeth, not "ok" teeth...is it just that my teeth will never be like that? Even with braces, do some teeth still have gaps? I didn't have those gaps before braces...

Ortho thinks braces are ready to come off...I don't know?
I would go to a diff dentist
Reply:I would honestly get a second opinion if your insurance will cover it. That does sound awfully shady...

How did this happen?

I had always had perfect teeth,i brushed and everything. They still are perfect health wise says my dentist. But,when i was 7 or 8 i started losing teeth, then they grew back the wrong way and the middle teeth have one in front of the other tooth and its big and sticks out,the others, looks like they're turn like stuck, majority of my top teeth. My whole bottom set is just perfect, all baby teeth perfectly in set. How can i get this fixed, obviously braces wont do it,i dont like the look of brace, maybe invisibraces? I've gottten turned down by a lot of wow! girls because they thought i was ugly(said their friends),a lot overlook it though. Any advice? And any clue of what happened? I'm a singer and producer,i'm 14. I cant get famous and still have my teeth like this.

How did this happen?
Your permanent teeth just formed to big. That's all...it's very common. The only way to fix it is to have some teeth pulled to make room for the others and wear braces. You have to decide to either have bad teeth or wear braces. You may not like the look of them but thats your only choice. They do have clear braces now. They are the same as the metal braces but the brackets are clear. They are not so obvious.
Reply:lol

ur post is quite funny. but i'll take u seriously.

first of all, a lot of kids ur age have braces, and yes they would fix it. brushing ur teeth has nothing to do with the way they grow in. it's genetics. you can get invisible braces (depending on if ur teeth qualify for them) but i really dont recommend it for someone so young as u may forget to wear it or lose it, etc. just get clear brackets. by the time u get them off, you'll only be 16 or 17. that's still very young so you should be happy that you're starting them so soon. good luck.
Reply:see the dentist he might do sugery for u, it will help , for being famous remember nothing can stop u at all, it is the spirit from inside that makes u glow forget about ur teeth for moments and do action visit the dentist
Reply:Hey, I understand that you're self-conscious and big, ugly braces won't help that situation much, but think of how hot you'll be when they're off and you're actually old enough to be seriously dating. And I'm sure that there are a lot of girls out there who don't care about that because you sound like a nice guy. Just be yourself and you'll find the right girl some day. The best relationships start out as friendships. I actually met my husband when I was 15 (and he has pretty crooked teeth, but I think he's gorgeous!). =)

Go to the dentist, it could be decay.

SOUNDS LIKE A CAVITY TO ME BUDDY... CHK IT OUT =)
Reply:have you tried Crest Whitestrips or other stuff like that?

You can try baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and brush with it on a daily basis til it comes out.

It could be on the inside of your tooth and so then you would need to talk to your dentist about it.
Reply:A grey spot, you say?? It might be a cavity. But I'm no dentist. And I'm not hygenist. So don't take my word for it.

I cant stand it, My friends life is perfect!?

My friend has the perfect life. He is good looking, he gets good grades, hes good at sports, he's good at talking, and plays music. He is the luckiest kid ever.I have nothing, Im short, I matured slow,(Im 16) so I look young. Im geting in beter shape, But Im still ugly. I have so many flaws. My front tooth got knocked out and now it wont grow. Plus I have ******* unibrow. I remove it very 3 weeks. but It still feels like its there in my mind.He gets all the girls. I mean, seriously, they ask HIM out. Everytime I liked a girl, they shunned me. I had huge crush on this one girl, and she rejected me because Im a loser. Girls have even told me to my face that Im disgusting.I liked this other girl, and I finally built up the courage to ask her out, and she rejected me because she liked my friend. Then she asked him out, and he rejected her. No matter how confident I act, I always get rejected. I feel so depressed at night, and sometimes I just want to die.

I cant stand it, My friends life is perfect!?
Believe in yourself. You're only 16, you have a lot of time to have girlfriends. What I think you should do is find a hobby you enjoy and practice it every day. If you like sports, join a team. If you like music, take up guitar, or drums; whatever you would like. If it's drama classes, take them. Drama classes will actually help you with the confidence, so maybe you should do that.

Study harder than you are now. Not everyone is gonna like you. Maybe you're going for the wrong type of girls. Don't judge a book by it's cover and you may find yourself in a place you never thought you could be in. In a good way!
Reply:I do play music, but its not helping me with women.

you have potnetial you justhave to realize it with in yourself and keep telling your self you are a GOOD person and people WIll start to notice this and girls will accept your invitation to go out with you
Reply:Kill him or start believing in yourself... people with low self esteem or inferiority complex are usually ignored by people
Reply:You are not ugly. An orthodontist can fix your teeth. The uni brow will disappear, especially if you use Nad's a couple times.

At 16, you have time to grow up. You write that you are getting in shape. You can still get taller, but if not, that isn't the end of the world.

Look around for a quiet girl who you have something in common with. If you can't find her at school, look around at other places.

Do whatever you can to improve yourself and develop some gifts and interests that only you have.

Say, you are rock climbing and you meet a girl who likes that, too. Or, try a martial art class and meet a girl there.

You haven't experienced the breadth of life, yet. Don't give up.

It is much too soon. You'll see.

C. :)!!
Reply:...sometimes a person needs to be a really good old weed before he can be a really terrific flower.

Do understand though, that being as a weed first?....you'll have the extreme advantage of going on later in life with better stuff,... long after your lucky, uninhibited friend loses his significant unorthodox incapable of sustaining a really good long relationship type behavior systematically confounds him disproportionately.

Was that enough crap for ya partner?

Nobody likes a whiner here my good man......so quit trying being one seriously.......ok?

i don't imagine that you significantly like people who whine to you either.....do ya?

My point.....exactly!!!!
Reply:First off, his life will not always be perfect. It's likely he will not look so good in six years, where as you will grown into your features, and become a lady killer.

But for now, you need to get some confidence. Go look in the mirror and say -outloud- "I am not ugly. I'm handsome. I have confidence." Do this every morning and live by it.

Oh! and when looking for girls, maybe you should try to get to know them first. The ones that will say yes, and be worth it, may not be the ones who steal the spot light and wear short skirts, they are the ones who you can talk to and respect themselves.

What do you think the dentist will do to my teeth?

my lower right cuspid is growing over my lower right lateral making it wonky any suggestions but its only my lower set what isnt straight my top set are perfect wud he need to give me braces just for that and if he does pull it out what will happen to the gap will it stay there forever also i have a ingrown tooth in between my upper left 1st bicuspid and my upper left snd bicuspid what do u think he will haft to do to that answer both these questions correctly and ill give you best answer thanks :)

What do you think the dentist will do to my teeth?
You can discuss to your dentist about Invisalign. They are known as the most comfortable braces in the world, and they are removable. All it's needed is a casting of your teeth so they can make a set of adjustable "invisible braces molding", which is like the teeth whitening mouthpiece. They can do better than braces!
Reply:It sounds like there isn't enough room for your lower teeth. Usually, they can remove one or two and the others will straighten out. You definitely won't have a gap. If they do straighten out on their own, you won't need braces.

I've never heard of an ingrown tooth. Do you mean it never emerged? If it effects your bite or causes other problems, they will remove it.

How do I get teeth, skin, and a body high quality?

Right now I'm having an acne break out... bummer.

I'm planning on getting the Neutrogena Wave, and Nivea toner and moisturizer. Think that'll help get picture perfect skin?

I have braces at the moment but when I get them off I want to get them unnaturally white, any tips? Any tooth pastes or whitening treatments non-dentist related that you reccommend?

my husband had acne when we were datin, he tried apricot scrub: St Ives and that worked. The "cheap" noxema works as well. You don't have to buy the expensive stuff (sometimes they don't work and can even make the problem worse). The other thin is could be how you're showerin (not to sound personal) My hubby would wash his hair last and that would cause breakouts on his face and back so I told him to literally wash head to toe and now he'll get a few pimples instead of lookin like the face of a moon ^_^ (that even works when after you wash your hair put in conditioner, if you use it, rinse then continue to wash face and go down cleanin yourself.

For the teeth, listerine products: use the pre-rinse whitener, brush with 24hr protection (colgate) and rinse after with a mouth rinse.

If you want beauty, go natural, it's the best. if you bleach your tetth to make them look unnatural white that actually causes more damage.

encourage these into your eating routine:

dairy- reduces risk tooth decay

sugarless gum (20 min chew)- reduces tooth decay

raw veggies- natural toothbrush

nuts- protect teeth against bacteria

oranges, kiwi, strawberries- kills bacteria in mouth

wait 30 min after eatin before brushin (your teeth are at most vulnerable within 30 min from eatin)

avoid drinkin too much tea and coffee, they stain teeth

get a good lookin body, walk walk walk!!! it's easy on joints and proven to be more effective than runnin (speed walkin is good too). Bikin is good for buildin muscle in the legs (must be on higher settin though, no easy peasy) leg lifts are great for stomach (to do these: lie on back with hands restin on lower back, palms down...comfortable near butt. legs straight out lift slow 6in hold 1 min go slightly higher, hold 1 min. go down hold 1 min. do this for 10 min or as long as you want)

do ABC weight lifts for arms (to do these: take a hand weight, hold it straight out in front of you, stand wide, feet squared with shoulders. take the weight and draw the ABC's in the air in front of you.) Everythin except walkin and bikin should be done with control and slow for results. Walkin and bikin should be at your pace...NEVER PUSH BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN DO!!!!!!!! doin so will cause problems

I won't guarantee 100% perfection, but this does keep your body in shape and healthy (don't forget to eat healthy)

Egg White Mask

This is simple and quite frugal. There have been many instances of people reporting excellent results from trying it.

What is it? Egg white. Simple egg white.

All you need to do is separate the yolk from the egg whites. Then whip the egg whites until it is nice and frothy. Apply it to your clean face (using clean hands). Leave on for approximately 20 minutes and wash off with warm water.

The result? Tightening of the skin, clearing of red spots.

Possible side effects? If you’re allergic to eggs, of course, avoid this one.

If God be perfect?

First off I grew up as a Baptist, always believing in God %26amp; in the Christian belief, however now as I'm older %26amp; after being through multiple things I have lost my faith. My question is, if there is a God %26amp; he is perfect and does not make mistakes and he creates everything, than why is are world are from perfect? Why is their depression, suicide, homicides, accidents causing people to be disabled at young ages, homeless people, jobless people, justice system screwed up, innocent people being punished and everyone believe in different things? If he was perfect %26amp; doesn't make mistakes but made everything than why does everyone believe differently and why are their multiple religions %26amp; beliefs? Why doesn't god answer prayers that are reasonable %26amp; needed? There is no stories about religion that makes sense %26amp; does not defy logic, if you truly sit down to think about it. I think religion is a folklore passed on from generation to generation like santa clause, easter bunny, tooth fairy, etc.

If God be perfect?
God is not perfect OR flawed because of this simple fact-THERE IS NO GOD. No loving god that I can imagine would allow the world to be in such a horrible state. And no loving god should give us the choice of either worshiping him and giving him money or spending an eternity in hell. That leaves a person NO CHOICE-which takes away free will. Basically people are "frightened" into believing. It's all a bunch of crap. I wish you the best of luck...
Reply:whoaaaa i suggest therapy. and God is great no matter how much the devil has made you stray. you can always come back.
Reply:God is perfect, WE are not. We were created to be servants of God, and through prayer, we can get his help to make it through life's struggles. We are aliens of this world, for the devil is temporarily in control of it, until Christ returns. Therefore, many disasters, suicides, homicides, etc. occur, but through prayer, He protects his flock. So if you truly believe you need not be afraid, for your time here is temporary and short compared to eternity in heaven.
Reply:Well, it does sound like you've mixed up God with Santa Claus. When you pray, it's not supposed to be "God, here's a reasonable request - I really need this, that, and the other thing, and if you won't give me those things, then You're really bogus!"

Your definition of perfect is what would be perfect from your perspective. If you asked a little kid what would be a perfect world, he'd say one in which every meal was ice cream and cake and in which there was no bed-time, ever. The world is as it is. Accept it or rage against it. Oh, yeah, and if you rage against it, you'll twist your mind.
Reply:God isn't perfect. He is highly flawed. He makes a lot of mistakes. The first mistake was kicking Lucifer the Arch Angel of White light out of the heavens, God's multiple mistakes, letting other Arch Angels leaving of their own free will because he could not make nice with them because he had to be the one with sole power. Thousands of more Arch Angels fell from grace and then God's biggest mistake was labeling them ALL as the devil and creating his best tool.....fear.
Reply:God made man with free will. Man messed up, not God. Who is to say that your life won't turn around tomorrow, or next week. God can use any one of us if we let Him.
Reply:this goes back to adam and eve, if eve wouldnt of sinned we wouldnt sin either...but since eve sinned and enduced sin in adam then the we must live in sin....and if we all live in sin then their must be something called free-wil, if free will didnt exist then we wouldnt sin bcuz were all being controled by god.with free will we decide wuts right from wrong and therefor many ppl do wrong bcuz of free will.
Reply:Sin.

That is why.

In the beginning adam and eve sinned remember?

And since then God said there would be many things that would take place like they have because of sin.

That is why it is important for the gospel to be spread, that the word of God is heard because there is nothing more important than our eternal salvation in Jesus Christ. God made a way for us to be with him forever through Christ!

(See Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8-9)
Reply:My answer to your question is YES. God is God, God is Perfect. And according to what I believe in...growing up as a Roman Catholic, YES there is God, because afterall, why am I striving to live a meaningful life, if I don't believe that there is God. But with the inperfections of the world, I cannot blame it to God. I believe that when God created this world, it is not perfect yet. God created this world out of something that is chaotic, creation which means that God puts order to chaos. So it is never perfect that is why, creation is still going on....because the world is not perfect yet, but we are leading forward to that perfection in the Kingdom of God.Our lives here on earth is our contribution to that creative building of that Perfection we are seeking always in life. This I belive is the design of God's creation. But as God is with us, as we creatively co creates this world, it is as I belive never the will of God for human beings to suffer. Depressions, suicides, accidents, does not come from God. But since He created as humans as rational being, with freewill, there are things in this life that we live that is not the will of God,sometimes causing ourselves or others creations to suffer. It is us human beings who decide how to live this life. Why blame it to God. He already gave us our freedom, it is us who can also free ourselves from all this sufferings. God is not an angry God, a God who is happy to see His children suffer. He is a God of love, that is why, He always allow us to grow, to think,to decide and to be responsible to our own actions....
Reply:I may be wrong as some of my readers might feel so, but I strongly feel that despite all our highs and lows, joys and sorrows, pleasures and pains, gains and losses, we do not have the right to judge and question God's intent ever ! Yes, we have the right to question anything else if we might disagree but not God's intent, motives, desires or actions. This life is HIS gift to us all and therefore HE alone has absolute control over it, keep us the WAY HE likes and TAKE IT BACK when HE wants so, for HE is the sole GIVER and PROVIDER to us all and to the whole of this known as well as yet not known universes. And irrespective of whatever keeps happening to us and everything around us, we should simply go on putting in our best efforts utilizing ALL the talents GIFTED by HIM to us while at the same time staying unconcerned about results or rewards, good or bad.Only the best happens to us. Even if it sounds, looks, feels bad, being HIS gift, we should take it as the BEST we were ordained to be blessed with, by HIM.

Teeth whitener!?

I need a good over-the-counter tooth whitener that doesn't take a month to work. I'm getting married in a month and want to make sure my smile is picture perfect...any suggestions?

Teeth whitener!?
my dentist really likes me and instead od wasting my money on whitner's she told me to go to the vitamin store and ask for...Gly-Oxide. its a liquid u rub on your teeth that foams up a little and you leave it on for at least a minute.. then brush like normal. doesn't taste bad and is cheap. REALLY WORKS 2!

How to fix a MINOR Crooked tooth?!?

Ok i get compliments on my teeth consistently about how str8 and white they are the only problem is after my braces came off I failed to wear the retainer, resulting in one shifting back a bit behind the other? what is the most affordable and practical way I can get it fixed? would a simple retainer work? I've considered Lumineers but there so expensive and everyone told me I have like basically perfect teeth and it's such a small imperfection but i'm very vain and it bugs me! Any tips? Retainer?

it's on the bottom lol

How to fix a MINOR Crooked tooth?!?
Talk to your ortho sometime soon. If one tooth shifted back, odds are the others might move back. You may need to get braces again to correct your mistake. Hopefully that won't happen. See if you can put your retainer back in and see if it fits. If that doesn't work, call your ortho.

Next time, wear your retainers. You went this far and now you may have to go back to braces.
Reply:A new retainer might be able to straighten it back out. Why not call an orthodontist and make an appointment to find out your options? Almost all orthodontists offer free consultations, and you can figure out from there what to do.
Reply:dentist helpline my babe,,,
Reply:at least you know that you are vain.. anyway ask your dentist they might know whats good for you.. but a retainer should work if you wear it !
Reply:the best and cheapest way is to leave them alone. It seems like you are obssesing over your perfect teeth. It's all in your head.Don't look for an extra expence and trouble.

I chipped my tooth on a beer bottle..help!!!?

So last night I was at the bar w/ my friends and we were being crazy....a little too crazy.

My freaking tooth got chipped from someone's beer bottle.

Its not that bad...but I know it happened..and I can feel it with my tongue.

What should I do?? I love my perfect teeth..now they are all jacked up.

I don't have dental insurance at this time either...

I chipped my tooth on a beer bottle..help!!!?
I chipped my tooth while I was rollerblading once...I hated how it felt and looked, so I just went to the dentist and they smoothened out the chip and filled it in and now my teeth look like and feel like they were before the incident ever happened. It cost around $300, but it was definitely worth it.

Just go to the dentist if you want it fixed.
Reply:Go get it fixed so you feel good about your smile-most dentists will take payments (it shouldn't cost that much)

I have one crooked tooth on my bottom jaw and i'm wondering what to do about it since i already have had brac

I am going to college to major in broadcasting and i want to have perfect teeth by the time that i am looking for a job. I got my braces off about five years ago but i think wisdom teeth made my teeth on my lower jaw crowded making one of them crooked

I have one crooked tooth on my bottom jaw and i'm wondering what to do about it since i already have had brac
If the crookedness is only effecting your "prettiness", then don't go jump off a cliff about it. Just be glad that you don't have to look like everybody else with their perfect damn teeth. You can be an original!! Know that and act like one!! And be proud!! Some of the most beautiful people aren't "poster-kids" for some orthodontic outfit or other cosmetic makeover. But now, if it's effecting your eating or general dental hygiene, then go see your dentist. They have all kinds of tricks up their sleeves. God Bless you.
Reply:Dental surgery
Reply:Ask you dentist about cosmetic veneers or maybe a crown.
Reply:Maybe you'll be able to get a broadcasting job in Arkansas, Missouri, or Kansas.
Reply:Those wisdom teeth have ta go my friend. I got braces of 3 years ago and my bottom row had about 3 crooked teeth this time last year. I got my wisdom teeth out and braces on the bottom row only for 8 months. Since the wisdom teeth are gone. They'll stay straight. Unless I get hit in the mouth with a bat....he he You should talk to your dentist about "invisalines" for a few months for the bottom row. www.invisaline.com Good Luck

If i cracked my tooth but nothing fell off, what should i do? Veneers or Crowns?

Last week i hit my tooth playing a sport. it cracked in 3 places, but nothing fell off. I had pain and it was loose for the first 2 days and now i have no pain, and the looseness is gradually tightening. I have perfect teeth and i am worried that eventually the cracks would get bigger through time and it would fall off. It is my front tooth. I am going to see several cosmetic dental surgeons, however i would like to know from people who have had this experience before what to do? If necessary should i consider veneers or dental crowns? i have a very nice smile and i am very concerned...

If i cracked my tooth but nothing fell off, what should i do? Veneers or Crowns?
DEPENDING ON THE CRACKS, VENEERS MAY BE INDICATED.

IN COSMETIC DENTISTRY THERE IS A RULE OF 2,4,6, ETC. WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT YOU ONLY SEE CRACKS IN ONE, YOU WILL LOOK BETTER IN THIS CASE TO HAVE BOTH FRONT TEETH VENEERED.
Reply:I think price wise your looking about the same for both. I talked to my dentist recently about veneers because the bottom of one of my front teeth chipped. He said he would recommend veneers, but he would advise I do both front teeth, not just the one. So you might need to fix both, so they look the same. But it also depends on your teeth I guess.
Reply:Such situations like yours with cracked tooth are tricky to tell without physical exam. You may opt for veneers to start with. But it would be known at the time of tooth preparation whether you may have to settle for crown as it covers from all sides.

Bottom front tooth sticking out?

Hello

I am 15 yrs old and I ahve just noticed that one of my teeth on the bottom row and in the front sticks out a little bit more than the rest of the teeth. When I try to wiggle it, it feels SLIGHTLY loose. I was always told I had perfect teeth. Does any1 know wht it is?

Bottom front tooth sticking out?
Teeth can move out of line and your age is when things such as this happen the most. You should have it seen by a dentist or orthodontist.

A wisdom tooth question?

My dentist told me my wisdom teeth wouldnt come in till i wa sabout 15/16 and i would need them out..I was wondering when they come in will they shift my teeth around alot??? Ive always had pretty much perfect teeth...So i was just wondering..

A wisdom tooth question?
nope. ure just going to have a lot of pain when u eat stuff. trust me...i kno..lol. im having my wisdom teeth pulled out in january due to the same problem.
Reply:Yes they will most likely shift your teeth unless you have extra room, which most dont, your dentist would be able to tell. Most people have their wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon in their pre-teen ages before they grow in all the way. Just ask about getting them removed early, they hurt when they grow in too, it will make it easier on you in both ways.
Reply:Well my jaw is big enough, the dentist said that i could have another tooth in the back of my mouth, cuase i gotta big jaw. my wisdom teeth are staying in. my brother had his pulled, and he ate mashed potatoes through a straw. hahaha.
Reply:IT DEPENDS SOMETIMES THEY NEVER COME ALL THE WAY IN AND OTHER TIMES THEY DO YOU WONT KNOW IF YOU HAVE ROOM OR NOT UNTIL THEY ARE COMPLETELY ERRUPTED AND I RARELY SEE ANYONE YOUNGER THAN 16 YRS OLD HAVING THEM OUT
Reply:It depends on how much room you have for them. Some people don't get them removed at all because they have no problems with them. I had no problems up until I became pregnant at age 29. One became ulcerated so my dentist took the four of them out in the chair but at separate times. My teeth are still nice and straight.

HELP Does getting a tooth pulled out hurt. N does braces hurt?

Im genetically missing 2 teeth, so when the baby teeth fall out i will have two HUGE GABS, N for my career its important to have perfect teeth. I will have 2 go 2 surgery n get 2 false teeth put into my jaw. It will be painfull. Not 2 mention that just 2 get my teeth cleaned i faint and get sick. Im gunna need help. How would you relax. Or what over the counter drugs would you suggest?

HELP Does getting a tooth pulled out hurt. N does braces hurt?
Don't worry, when you get your teeth cleaned you get no anaesthetic, so you feel everything that happens. For procedures like teeth implantation or teeth pulling out, the doctor will give you medication that will make you feel nothing. Taking medication beforehand doesn't help, a painkiller doesn't stop pain that is provoked (if someone pinches you when you have taken the painkiller, it doesn't mean you won't hurt!). But after the procedure, if you have some pain, you can take paracetamol or ibuprofen. By the way, wait and see, perhaps your new teeth will come out just fine!
Reply:I don't understand your question... first you ask about getting a tooth pulled, then you say you're genetically missing 2 teeth and have to have 2 put in? Do you have to have one pulled or not? and why?

You already have a career and you haven't lost your baby teeth yet? LOL, what career is that? modeling?
Reply:Getting a tooth pulled does not have to hurt, but you have a lot of fear to get thru. When I had my wisdom teeth taken out, I did not have pain because the dentist numbed the area with a needle (which was more like a tickle) and then cut each tooth into 4 pieces to extract. You may be able to get a temporary tooth that can be taken out for cleaning.

Braces are uncomfortable for the first day or so after tightening, then less. You've already come a long way in deciding on the surgery. Now give yourself credit for taking the next steps. That way, when your experience is over, you'll have something pleasant to say to someone who asks for your advice in this area.
Reply:My friends who got braces say that braces do hurt a fair bit the first few days, but they stop after a week or so.

The first time I got my teeth pulled out when I was 7, the dentist used a needle to inject something into my gums so I wouldn't feel anything. It didn't hurt at all, but my lips felt really puffy afterwards although they looked fine. They felt really tingly too.

The 2nd and 3rd time, I think they did something to ease the pain, but I still felt it. I doubt it hurt nearly as much as it would without the pain killer, but it still hurt a fair bit, but only when the teeth were coming out. Then again, I was 9 or 10 at the time so it might not hurt as much.

If you go through surgery, wouldn't they give you an anesthetic of some sort so you don't feel anything?

I don't have much advice for how to relax about this since ever since I was a kid I enjoyed going to the dentist for the fluoride shower where they stick trays of foamy stuff in your mouth. I think maybe you should just think about the bright side: You're gonna have perfect teeth there! My teeth were actually pretty crummy when I was 12 since my lower jaw was smaller than it was supposed to be, and my front teeth were quite yellow.

What ways can u overcome tooth sensitivity issues without having a root canal.?

One night i drank a whole lot of margaritas, the next morning my wife fixed me some pancakes and i felt a sharp pain in my mouth when eating them, i went to brush my teeth, but noticed nothing was in my mouth. I started to get a throbbing headache and researched it and found it to be a sensitive tooth. I bought some sensodyne and brushed my teeth with it for about a mth. This calmed the serious pains, but when drinking cold water, i could still fill it and while chewing gum, i still develop headaches. I tuffed it out, and now a few mths later, my gums on the other side of my mouth have a similar sensitive issue, not nearly as intense, i dont have to use sensodyne anymore for either side. I hear the only way to solve this was with a root canal. I have no cavities, never had any and wondering what is goin on with my teeth and is a root canal the only solution. I have picture perfect teeth, no braces ever. Ill send pics to show them, the dentists all marvel at my teeth.

What ways can u overcome tooth sensitivity issues without having a root canal.?
If you have no cavities, then you will NOT require a root canal. Root canals are for teeth that have rotted to the root or nerve. To me it sounds like you may be grinding or clenching your teeth at night when sleeping. From personal experience that alone can cause sensitivity in the teeth and cause headaches. The best thing to do is to get a night guard/splint for your teeth when you sleep. Your dentist can create one that fits your teeth perfectly and will protect your teeth. I have used these night guards for years. About every three years I have to have a new one made because I bite holes in them in my sleep.
Reply:There's obviously something wrong. Just because you didn't have a cavity the last time you went to the dentist doesn't mean you don't have one now.

You might also have gum disease. See the dentist right away.
Reply:sorry to say root canal is the only way..

but the good news is that it doesnt hurt that bad so dont worry about it..

and they will give you vicaden for the recovery, so you will be loopy for a day or 2
Reply:Just rubbing formaldehyde mixed tooth powder or toothpaste will definitely help you, Try and see the results you will be Happy.
Reply:no need to send pics...root canals can be necessary for several reasons not just tooth decay...damage to the tooth or nerve can be from trauma too so don't discount it if your dentist says you need one. and thats the real answer what did your dentist say? he will need to do an xray to see what and if there is a problem with the nerve if there is you will need a root canal as nerver deterioration will not go away on its on it will just get worse until it abcesses and then the pain you feel now will feel like a tickle comparatively...go to your dentist, describe what happened and see what they say...good luck
Reply:Go get a checkup, fer godsake. There's no use living in pain when a professional would gladly take your maney to fix the problem.
Reply:i think root canals are only for decaying teeth that need to be drained(ew). i'm sure you would know if you needed a root canal cause usually the pain is almost unbearable. just taking that from what i've heard. you could look up abcessed teeth on the internet though. i think thats what they're called or something close to that. but good luck anyway.

Question regarding wisdom tooth extraction claim with unicare?

Heres my situation, im 17 and i just got 3 wisdom teeth pulled because of on/off pains since they were coming in. The problem now is that my mom had to put like $400 up front because apparently Unicare (i have a Unicare Platinum PPO) says that wisdom teeth extraction isnt covered by dental and that it has to be forwarded to medical claims. The weird thing is that my cousins got their wisdom teeth pulled a year or two before me and they have the same provider/plans since both our dads work in the same place and it was completely covered but my aunt cant find the insurance record from that time. I normally think wisdom teeth extraction is covered by the dental plan since there are only a lucky few in the world who have perfect teeth and dont need to get it pulled. Now my problem is that im not sure if my dental office is filling the claim correctly or what since i/my parents also thought it would be covered. My dental officed filled the claim as partial bony %26amp; soft tissue extraction

Question regarding wisdom tooth extraction claim with unicare?
Insurance companies make their own rules on what they will and will not cover. SOme place them under medical, others under dental. You should investigate the plans to see which part of the policy should cover it.

Particial bony means that part of the tooth was located under the bone, and they had to cut it away. SOft tissue means the tooth was under the gum and an incision had to be made to get to the tooth. Every tooth, including wisdom teeth, will have it's own set of circumstances. The code is based on what conditions exhist in the mouth, and how difficult it is to extract it. The dentist may think it is only under the gum, then get inside to find bone on top of the tooth, and have to change the procudeure in the middle. Try getting a copy of the claim form and the phone number to the insurance company. Call them and ask why they are not covering it. The insurance companies are much nicer to the patient than they are to the dental office. Remember the insurance companies do not WANT to pay, so it is often a struggle to make them pay.
Reply:i had my wisdom teeth pulled 2 years ago, and it was covered on the health plan not dental.

however, the trigger for it to be covered on the health plan was the fact that they were impacted. if they were not impacted they would have been covered by dental.

i had BCBS PPO and Delta Dental at the time.
Reply:I'm in this exact same situation. I have a co-worker who had the procedure done (same group plan) and his was NOT COVERED by medical, so the dentist sends the EOB to Dental insurer and they covered. His procedure must have been full bony. My claim was accepted as covered on all line items, even though only one was a soft tissue extraction. Of course, medical applies to deductible first and therefore I pay the first $400. If they had not covered the whole claim, my dental deductible would have been used, which was only $50. I've researched this to death. They really try hard not to give you information that you can use. I've almost got it figure out though on how to proceed. Teeth problems!?

okay so I lost a tooth a long time ago (a year) and now its just barely starting to come in help! it only moves about a tenth of a centimeter every 4 months. how can i get it to come in faster because if i could get my tooth to come in all the way i would have a perfect smile

Teeth problems!?
you just need to wait, there is no process to speed it up and if you force it, you may even get it to come out crooked. Just check on it once in a while and wait so it grows naturally. Then you will have a perfect smile :D

When does a tooth need extracted?

Hi. I'm only 14 years old but I have really bad teeth because I didn't see the dentist for a few years. I had some fillings when I was little and the dentist said I need a lot more now :o(

Anyway, one of my teeth that had a filling in it from when I was younger was really sore last week but then all of a sudden stopped hurting and I told the dentist today when I went to get some of my fillings done. My mum had said I would probably need a root canal on it, but the dentist said it had to get pulled out.

So today I got that tooth pulled out and I got fillings in three other teeth and I still have to get another 3 done next week. I feel really bad cos I didn't look after my teeth well enough or I wouldn't need fillings :o( My brother and sister have got perfect teeth.

Anyway, why did the dentist pull out my tooth? When do they pull them out instead of doing fillings and stuff?

When does a tooth need extracted?
Hi Lucy. First of all, don't worry about having fillings. Lots of people have fillings and it's not your fault that your parents didn't take you to the dentist regularly - that's their responsibility not yours. I always had really good teeth when I was your age but I didn't go to the dentist for a long time and now I need fillings in almost all of my teeth so I know how you feel.

I had to have a tooth pulled out too, in my case it was because it was very badly decayed and the dentist said it was too rotten to save. That's usually why teeth are extracted, if the decay is very bad. But that doesn't mean you haven't looked after your teeth, don't worry - if the tooth already had a filling in it then some bacteria probably got in underneath it and it decayed under the filling - there's nothing you could have done about that.
Reply:they pulled your tooth because of 2 reasons:

#1) you tooth was too far gone to do a root canal or any other procedure.

#2) it costs cheaper to pull the tooth then to try and save it.
Reply:they might be unfillable, to stop decayed teeth causing barcteria to infect gums and make them septic
Reply:I'm no dentist but it's pretty obvious that a tooth filled years ago would not be suitable for another filling to-day. Trust your dentist - they don't extract healthy teeth!
