Has anyone had braces a long time ago (15 years) and now have shifting teeth?

I had braces 15 years ago in junior high and had perfect teeth. Over the years, and especially the past few years, my top front teeth have been shifting and slightly overlapping. It is slow, but I feel like if I don%26#039;t see an orthodontist again, it will continue and get bad. Aren%26#039;t there orthodontic money-back guarantees?

This is because you are not wearing your retainer. You have to wear your retainer for the rest of your life or your teeth will shift.

But the strange part is, have you ever seen a 70 year old wearing a retainer? I haven%26#039;t. I guess you can stop wearing a retainer when your teeth start falling out.

There are no money back guarantees. You could always get a permanent retainer, but I think it can only go on the bottom teeth.
Reply:um no guarentees sorry
Reply:I had my braces off about 10 years ago. Now my teeth are shifting, but I know why mine are, and suspect your shift for the same reason. I did not wear my retainer. The %26quot;fine print%26quot; that most don%26#039;t read or dont take as seriously as they should is that fact that most orthodontic patients should wear their retainers, more or less, every night for the rest of your life.

I%26#039;m sure there is no guarantee, but assuming the shifting is not severe, the price should be more reasonable and the time in braces probably less. Also, you may be a candidate for the Invisalign system (no metal). Good Luck!
Reply:hi, no such thing about money back guarantees.

as u can c, ur case is may be due to ur gum problems. when gum is x healthy, teeth are easily shift.

2ndly, did u wear ur retainer at night? no? then, that%26#039;s ur answer. as i remember, who ever done braces treatment, they will be wearing a retainer( either removable one or fixed one) for life. the purpose wearing the retainer is to prevent relapsing of the teeth. i%26#039;m sure that ur teeth has relapse. because these teeth still have the tendency to do just that because of the fibers that attaching the teeth. they are pulling the teeth back to the original position or maybe even worse than before..
