Lingual braces..the one that go in the back of your teeth. How much more do they cost then regular braces?

I really truly d not want braces but I know I need them t have he perfect smile. I cant stand the look of them on anyone.I heard lingual braces are available. Ones where you can put it on the back of your teeth. What is the prices difference between lingual and regular braces. Are there any more options out there other then these 2, to have the least noticeable braces.

I have lingual braces and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Had them for about 7 months I think. I had a lisp at first but it went a way in a couple of weeks. My tounge once got caught on a bracket...it sucks when you have a cold and cough bc your tounge pushes forward into the brackets...umm what else..that's bout it..u can always put wax on the bracket to protect your tounge but I hardly ever have to. I LOVE my braces...how crazy is that? Mine were about $2000 more than traditional braces and I had to pay that up front but my ortho didnt charge very much bc I was his 1st patient...I'm sure the price will increase once he gets more experience.





But I dont see why anyone would get any other type of braces...I can already see results..and all you see are my teeth no metal. I had crowding and an overbite that I'm correcting. 30 year old female...felt like I was toooo old to be wearing braces and the lingual ones were a better look for me and I have the money to pay for them so why not!

Reply:I would set up an appointment with an orthodontist. I will tell you this though, I have had braces and it was terrible, your lips and gums get cut up. However, if you were to get braces on the back of your teeth, it may cut up your tongue. I would really think about it and find others who have had them to see how it all went.
Reply:The point of getting braces is to fix your teeth...Not look glamorous in them (although some people think braces look good). If you want to get less noticeable braces, you should get clear braces which are ceramic brackets that blend in with your teeth well. I have clear braces and from a relative difference you can't even tell I'm wearing braces, and couple of my friends didn't even know I had braces until I told them.
