Will my teeth move anymore?

6 years ago i had braces put on my teeth...

4 years ago i removed them myself with a screwdriver.

I never had a retainer at all, but my teeth still look perfect.

so...

Do you think my teeth will shift or move at all from this point in considering my wisdom teeth are already in and its been 4 years since the braces were removed?

Will my teeth move anymore?
Pliers would have been much better at removing them. You should remember that for next time cause without a retainer your teeth will move.
Reply:you removed them yourself...thats interesting. If they haven't changed AT ALL in 4 years, they probably won't shift too much if any. You may want to look into getting a retainer though.
Reply:yeah, i had braces 10 years ago and now mine have shifted on the bottom. that's why you need a retainer.
Reply:yes, with age the teeth move. this is called the mesial drift. your teeth will move forward and this is normal as we age. i suggest you get a retainer made
Reply:Removed them with a screwdriver? That sounds like something my dad would have done!!

Well kudos for you if you did this and all is okay with your teeth, gums and bone. When braces are put on your teeth, the brackets and bands are usually held in place with a cement that needs to be cleaned and removed. If you have had your teeth and gums cleaned and checked routinely since you did you own dental treatment and all is fine with them, then I'd have some clear retainers made that could be put in at nighttime. This will ensure they remain in the position they are presently in.

Hey, how about trying to make you own retainers! All you need is impression material, dental stone, Essix retainer plastic and a heated vacuum form. Go for it!!!

Best wishes to you.
