My teeth aren't perfect and it has gaps in between and I find that one of my sister's too has the same problem but the other siblings are perfect. Now my problem is my 5 year old daughter is developing the same condition as mine. What shall I do? Also I want to know at what age teeth fall. Im worried about it although im just 35 still. I feel that two of my teeth are loosening and also I have yellowish teeth. The color never goes even though I brush after every meal. Thanks for your answers.
So worried about teeth!!!?
You should go see a dentist or a cosmetic one. They can help you with veneers and bleach your teeth, ask them about your daughter's if you're concerned.
Reply:The gap could be for 2 reasons. 1) Her frenum is connected low and t he teeth are separating because of it. The treatment would be a frenectomy to release the pressure at that point of connection. 2) She could have a tongue thrusting problem. When she swallows, her tongue pushes on her front teeth and it causes them to separate. My daughter has the 2nd problem.
To get an evaluation, you can take her to an orthodontist for a consultation. Most will do it for free. If she needs a fenectomy, he'll refer you to a periodontist. If it's tongue thrusting, he can put a 'cage' or 'rake' in her mouth to prevent and re-train the tongue.
I'm not sure what you mean about 'what age teeth fall'? As for you having loose teeth, you need to see a dentist. You might have periodontal problems that need to be treated.
Hope this helps.
Reply:For your 5 year old... it's good to have spacing when they are that young. It leaves more room for the permanent teeth to come in. She may not need braces (SAVE LOST OF $$$$)
As for as your teeth "falling" that may be a periodontal problem. If you smoke/chew or not schedule regular dental visits that can cause bone loss which can make your teeth loose if you lose bone.
Go to a dentist and have them take a look at that...
Reply:Spacing between teeth can just be a genetic thing, but it can also be due to the fact that the attachment between the lip and gums between the two front teeth can come down too low and prevent the teeth from becoming closer. This is not a big deal other than looks. Adult teeth do not fall out unless they are not taken care of or a severe problem with osteoporosis or similar bone problem takes place. Most people lose teeth b/c of gum disease or periodontal disease. This is caused by buildup on your teeth hardens and then failure to get regular dental cleanings. If this buildup stays on too long without being cleaned off by a dental hygienist, it causes gum inflammation and bone loss. Eventually, enough bone loss occurs and the teeth become loose. Get your teeth cleaned regularly. The yellowness can be staining that is due to not having your teeth cleaned, or it can be due to aging enamel. As we age, the enamel wears thinner and the underneath layer of the tooth shows through. This layer is much yellower and can be whitened with whitening methods such as over the counter whitening strips. If the strips do not provide enough whitening, you may need professional whitening. However, you need clean teeth before whitening or the buildup will just be whitened.
Even if you have bone loss, they can now do bone grafts and etc to help prevent tooth loss. Oh yes, it is good for the baby teeth to have spacing.
Reply:The space between two front teeth is called a diastema. Can be fixed with braces. You should bring your child to orthodontist around age 7 for consult. Children begin losing their baby teeth between ages 5-8. Adult teeth can last your whole life. Make sure to keep teeth and gums healthy with regular cleanings. There is many ways to whiten teeth, from whitening over the counter strips to professional bleaching from a dentist. In severe cases veneers are wonderful but expensive. Hope this helps.
