6 years ago i had braces put on my teeth...
4 years ago i removed them myself with a screwdriver.
I never had a retainer at all, but my teeth still look perfect.
so...
Do you think my teeth will shift or move at all from this point in considering my wisdom teeth are already in and its been 4 years since the braces were removed?
Will my teeth move anymore?
Pliers would have been much better at removing them. You should remember that for next time cause without a retainer your teeth will move.
Reply:you removed them yourself...thats interesting. If they haven't changed AT ALL in 4 years, they probably won't shift too much if any. You may want to look into getting a retainer though.
Reply:yeah, i had braces 10 years ago and now mine have shifted on the bottom. that's why you need a retainer.
Reply:yes, with age the teeth move. this is called the mesial drift. your teeth will move forward and this is normal as we age. i suggest you get a retainer made
Reply:Removed them with a screwdriver? That sounds like something my dad would have done!!
Well kudos for you if you did this and all is okay with your teeth, gums and bone. When braces are put on your teeth, the brackets and bands are usually held in place with a cement that needs to be cleaned and removed. If you have had your teeth and gums cleaned and checked routinely since you did you own dental treatment and all is fine with them, then I'd have some clear retainers made that could be put in at nighttime. This will ensure they remain in the position they are presently in.
Hey, how about trying to make you own retainers! All you need is impression material, dental stone, Essix retainer plastic and a heated vacuum form. Go for it!!!
Best wishes to you.

Ortho Never took Molds of my Teeth!!!?
I am an adult %26amp; had braces for almost 2 1/2 years. My ortho never took molds of my teeth in the beginning of my treatment. He only took pictures of my teeth. Now that I have my braces off, my bite is crooked and one of my bottom teeth is further back than it should be. He took molds when I got my braces off to make the retainers. My ortho has been in practice for close to 25 yrs. I am just worried that he didnt take molds in the beginning and that is why my teeth are not perfect now. I dont feel like he really looked at my teeth correctly. For example, I had to get a tooth extracted and when I went to my dentist, he was hesisatant to extract it because the bone structure on the on the tooth was really good. I went back to my ortho and told him my concern, so he said "ok lets extract the other other one on the other side". He wanted to extract 2 teeth all of the sudden by looking at my mouth for a couple of seconds!!! I only extracted the original one cauz I got scared. I need Advice!
Ortho Never took Molds of my Teeth!!!?
Vote #3 for a second opinion~
The fact that he's been in practice for 25 years doesn't mean he has no clue as to what he's doing...
Study models are taken prior to treatment so the dentist/orthodontist can evaluate your teeth/mouth without you sitting in front of him.
Reports should have been sent to your dentist from the orthodontist, stating your progress/outcome.
Tell your dentist your concerns, and see if he agrees with us.
Good Luck!
:)
Reply:I workjed at a dental office for a couple of years, and my mom has worked with orthodontists and dentists for several years. I would say you should definitely get a second opinion....go to another orthodontist (maybe a younger one who is more up-to-date on current procedures) and tell him your concerns. I do think it's odd that an orthodontist never took beginning molds of your teeth......
Extraction, I thought, was used only when there was overcrowding of the teeth.....are your teeth overcrowded? I don't know...I would definitely get a second opinion, esp if it bothers you that badly.
Reply:i would get a second opinion 2
Reply:idk i would go to another orthodontist see what they say and listen to them
and if needed drop the other dude

So worried about teeth!!!?
My teeth aren't perfect and it has gaps in between and I find that one of my sister's too has the same problem but the other siblings are perfect. Now my problem is my 5 year old daughter is developing the same condition as mine. What shall I do? Also I want to know at what age teeth fall. Im worried about it although im just 35 still. I feel that two of my teeth are loosening and also I have yellowish teeth. The color never goes even though I brush after every meal. Thanks for your answers.
So worried about teeth!!!?
You should go see a dentist or a cosmetic one. They can help you with veneers and bleach your teeth, ask them about your daughter's if you're concerned.
Reply:The gap could be for 2 reasons. 1) Her frenum is connected low and t he teeth are separating because of it. The treatment would be a frenectomy to release the pressure at that point of connection. 2) She could have a tongue thrusting problem. When she swallows, her tongue pushes on her front teeth and it causes them to separate. My daughter has the 2nd problem.
To get an evaluation, you can take her to an orthodontist for a consultation. Most will do it for free. If she needs a fenectomy, he'll refer you to a periodontist. If it's tongue thrusting, he can put a 'cage' or 'rake' in her mouth to prevent and re-train the tongue.
I'm not sure what you mean about 'what age teeth fall'? As for you having loose teeth, you need to see a dentist. You might have periodontal problems that need to be treated.
Hope this helps.
Reply:For your 5 year old... it's good to have spacing when they are that young. It leaves more room for the permanent teeth to come in. She may not need braces (SAVE LOST OF $$$$)
As for as your teeth "falling" that may be a periodontal problem. If you smoke/chew or not schedule regular dental visits that can cause bone loss which can make your teeth loose if you lose bone.
Go to a dentist and have them take a look at that...
Reply:Spacing between teeth can just be a genetic thing, but it can also be due to the fact that the attachment between the lip and gums between the two front teeth can come down too low and prevent the teeth from becoming closer. This is not a big deal other than looks. Adult teeth do not fall out unless they are not taken care of or a severe problem with osteoporosis or similar bone problem takes place. Most people lose teeth b/c of gum disease or periodontal disease. This is caused by buildup on your teeth hardens and then failure to get regular dental cleanings. If this buildup stays on too long without being cleaned off by a dental hygienist, it causes gum inflammation and bone loss. Eventually, enough bone loss occurs and the teeth become loose. Get your teeth cleaned regularly. The yellowness can be staining that is due to not having your teeth cleaned, or it can be due to aging enamel. As we age, the enamel wears thinner and the underneath layer of the tooth shows through. This layer is much yellower and can be whitened with whitening methods such as over the counter whitening strips. If the strips do not provide enough whitening, you may need professional whitening. However, you need clean teeth before whitening or the buildup will just be whitened.
Even if you have bone loss, they can now do bone grafts and etc to help prevent tooth loss. Oh yes, it is good for the baby teeth to have spacing.
Reply:The space between two front teeth is called a diastema. Can be fixed with braces. You should bring your child to orthodontist around age 7 for consult. Children begin losing their baby teeth between ages 5-8. Adult teeth can last your whole life. Make sure to keep teeth and gums healthy with regular cleanings. There is many ways to whiten teeth, from whitening over the counter strips to professional bleaching from a dentist. In severe cases veneers are wonderful but expensive. Hope this helps.

Whiter teeth?
My teeth are not perfect. They are pretty yellow in fact. but this doesn't really make sense, because I brush my teeth sometimes 3 or 4 or even 5 times a day, and I don't see any improvement. I've watched how much sugar I eat and other corrosive things, and I've switched to a tooth paste specifically made for whiter teeth and I still see no difference. I know I'm brushing them properly, but I have braces right now so I don't know if that would make a difference. I want to know if there are any techniques or things or specifics I should know about teeth or how to care for them in order to get them to look better. Or if I'm just suffering from unfortunate genetics.
Thank you for any insight provided.

sometimes medication will do a number on your teeth, but you can try making a paste with baking soda and peroxide. leave it on while you shower and then brush normally. no point wasting your money on any of that stuff they advertise.
Reply:After braces- Go to an authorized Zoom2 AP dental office. More facts on Discus Dental web site. Very nice results with yellow teeth moving up to white and even bleach shades. Gray teeth ,likely stained by tetracycline taken by children. Debby, Las Vegas Report It
Reply:it works!!! i know a guy that has thee Whitest teeth ever due to that Report It

Reply:Do you drink a lot of coffee? If not, ask your dentist, (s)he might have some advice for you.
Reply:are you a coffee drinker? it might be your genetics. does your mom, dad or grandparents have this type of problem. you could always try teeth whitening. or maybe you just think you have yellow teeth. have your friends told you that you have yellow teeth? sorry about your problem, i hope what im saying will help. good luck!
Reply:Ok well genetics is something you might want to think about. Some people in my family brush like all the time but there teeth is still yellow. Your "druel" believe it or not may make your teeth yellow. See a dentist if you still want to get it white xD good luck
Reply:ridicur is correct. The whitestrips and other things on the market could ruin your teeth! Trust me on this one because my dad asked a dentist about it, and he told him that it's HORRIBLE for your teeth.

Help. I'm feeling a desire to pull my teeth for dentures.?
Hello,
I've had bulimia for three years, and the effects have almost completely devastated my teeth. At least this is what I think, the dentists disagrees. But I have my suspicions about him, why else would he want me to keep my teeth if they were in a ruinous state? Perhaps, because he wants me to keep them around for his perusal when his bills go up?
My teeth are able to be mended, but they will require a decent level of work and devotion. I have invested in good toothpastes, toothbrushes and oral hygiene products. This, however, won't bring my teeth back to "perfect". Perfect is something we all strive for in everything we do, so I think someone out there can sympathize with me on this issue: our smile, one of many connections that are made with each other.
What should I do? Is it worth it to go through the procedures and have my teeth in a semi-perfect state, or is it better to just start tugging them out and get dentures? Then, of course, I'll have the perfect smile.
Help. I'm feeling a desire to pull my teeth for dentures.?
after 20 years of not going to the dentist due to my phobia,i found one where i had sedation and 6hours of treatment plus ive got to go back for one more session ,i would recomend you see what can be done,if the worse comes to the worse go for implants.
Reply:If your dentist says your teeth can be saved, believe him. He knows the procedures to restore your teeth to near perfect condition. Dentures are cumbersome and you cannot chew meat as well as your real teeth can.
Reply:I'm sorry to hear about your bulimia and hope that you have conquered that. Your dentist wants you to keep our teeth, not to increase his income, but to help you. Dentures may give you a perfect smile but they are a pain to eat with. Especially the lower ones. In my practice I've seen countless people get implants to replace their dentures as they weren't what they thought they would be and they wanted to eat well and taste food again. Explain your fears to your doc and see what is said. Good luck!
Reply:DUDE!!
you are WAY too into "perfect"..
maybe you should remember that "it is what it is".. you have done this to yourself, so that is what "is".. you may never find what is "perfect", so deal with what "is"..
if you dont like what that dentist says, than, find another one..
the decision is yours to make, and no one elses.. so, IF you do decide to yank your pearlys, then stop by and i'll give you a hand.. i just got a new pair of pliers..
Reply:i have a friend who went through this same thing. she is also a dental hygienist. her teeth are yellowing, thin and sensitive. the insides are yellow. they are yellow because under the enamel is dentin which is yellow.
however her teeth are healthy, she still has them cleaned and x-rayed regularly and gets cavities filled on occasion.
you can either choose to leave them in this state and fill cavities as necessary, or get crowns on all your teeth to cover them up.
but i would NEVER recommend dentures unless a dentist said there was no other option.
even if you get dentures you have to see a dentist yearly, you also have to replace them every few years due to change in jaw and gum size.

If god intended man to live a a Paradise with god and gave him a perfect body then why do we get tooth decay?
adam wouldn't need to take of his teeth because they would be perfect and i dont think god created a tooth brush on the 8th day .
if your going to say its adams fault because he brought sin in to the world then please explain "exactly how sin would cause tooth decay".
If god intended man to live a a Paradise with god and gave him a perfect body then why do we get tooth decay?
That would be poor hygiene.
Reply:Free will. We choose to eat foods that can readily decay our teeth and neglect to clean them properly.

Reply:Adam and Eve were created perfect. They would never get sick, nor die. They were warned that disobedience would be a death sentence. They disobeyed, got the boot out of paradise, and eventually died. Of course, they lived to about 900 years of age.
There removal from God's grace was like pulling the plug on a fan. As long as you have energy, the fan keeps on spinning. Once the plug is pulled, the fan spins, but slowly comes to a stop. Basically this is kind of what happened to Adam and Eve. They would no longer have the full holy spirit to keep them perfect. Their bodies would slowly decay and come to a stop. During this decay, they would be prone to diseases, pain, and of course, tooth decay. Their descendants would inherit this condition from then on in.
Eventually, this will be reversed during the Judgement day.
Reply:what Torobyte is trying to say is... that once sin came in through Adam's disobedience, humanity became sinful, thus allowing things like disease and lust, and tooth decay to be able to control mankind. We became controlled by sin when we were born because Adam and eve were sinful, and the penalty of sin is death (the bible says that) so, death includes:
death to health, death to ur lively hood etc.

What are male models secret to perfect skin - especially on the face?
I always see male models and their perfect skin and teeth (whether it be in pictures, video, or in person) I just want to know their secret to it?
What are male models secret to perfect skin - especially on the face?
They have normal skin like everyone. They go to the dermatologist for any skin problems and watch what they put on their skin. Exfoliate once a week, and use spf everyday.
The big time models have to have good skin, and retouching is expensive so agents prefer you take care of your body 100% of the time. Do not smoke either, that makes skin age faster and look dull.
